Loan-to-Value (LTV) is the size of your mortgage as a percentage of the total property value.
The higher your deposit, the lower your LTV. In this case, if you put down a 5% deposit on your home, that’s a 95% mortgage, or 95% LTV.
The maximum amount you can borrow with a 5% deposit depends on where you want to buy.
In London and South East, you can borrow up to £700,000.
In the rest of England and Wales, you can borrow up to £500,000.
To borrow more than that, you can increase your deposit.
An income booster helps you borrow more by adding their income to the mortgage.
Everyone on the mortgage is equally responsible for it, but how the repayments are divided is up to you.
An income booster can be removed from the mortgage once you can afford the loan on your income alone.
